Our trek theme this year is “Come, Come, Ye Saints: Follow Thou Me” in honor of those early saints who answered the call of the Savior to follow Him and for all of us who hear and answer the call in our lives today! We will trek about 20 miles of Wyoming countryside (70% of which is real pioneer trail) using hard carts and having a blast sharing music, testimony, memories, and adventures together. But most importantly, you will have the opportunity to:
Along the trail, you will see many different kinds of important trail markers. Cairns (stacked rocks) are commonly used trail markers showing weary travelers which direction to go, confirming areas that are safe, marking good food/water sources, honoring lives lost, and other powerful messages. The Lord has given us spiritual trail markers through the life and mission of his Son, Jesus Christ. Living and ancient prophets add additional stones to the pile as they testify of Him. Personal prayer, the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and the sacred ordinances of the Sacrament and the Temple are critical spiritual cairns of comfort, direction, knowledge, and inspiration as we journey toward returning to the presence of the Lord.
We know that the cairns, gravestones, and testimonies from the past will call to you on this trek and strengthen us all in our journeys today. We can’t wait to embark on this adventure together to search for, find, and affirm the spiritual markers in our lives. This is going to be amazing, see you there!
And he said unto the children of men: Follow thou me.
Trek this year will be held near Ft. Bridger Wyoming at Muddy Creek. For details and maps about this area, please visit PioneerHandCartTreks.com.
